GENERAL (ILLUSTRATIVE) CATEGORY

Best in Show – “Missing Her” – by Sherrie Fryxell

Judges Comments: “Great storytelling, terrific print quality -beautiful B&W print.  The building in the foreground is nice and straight and vertical…oftentimes when photographers take pictures of tall buildings, they are not perfectly vertical or appear distorted.  These buildings appear in this image exactly as we see them  Good job by the photographer.  The only recommendation I have to make; a slight improvement would be to have the man’s feet on different levels – so both feet aren’t on the chair next to each other”.

1st Place – “Your Place or Mine?” – by Sherrie Fryxell

Judges Comments – “Great Title, showing communication between the two horses.  Great print quality – the colors jump out at you”

2nd PLACE – “Good Fences Make Good Neighbors” – by Larry Cohen

Judges Comments: “Great Print – true blacks and true whites.  The leading lines of the fence, and even the footprints lead you into this image”.

3rd Place – “Pulling for Old Glory” – by Bill Greenlee

Judges Comments: ” Beautiful print – I love this Black & White image with the American Flag in color, and in the print title.  No “Grey Tones” in this images.  The blacks are black, and the whites are white.
